Wedding Party Cards for Every Role

Maid of Honor card set: the Will you stand beside me card, the thank-you note inside, and the What being Maid of Honor really means insert

When I was a best man, nobody told me I'd be picking up the tuxedos, taking them back, booking haircuts and shoe shines, and planning the bachelor party. Yikes. I said yes to a job I didn't know I had.

That's why I made these cards. Each one asks the question, says thank you, and lays out, kindly, what you're hoping for. Your people say yes knowing what they're saying yes to.

The quick version

  • 32 cards, one for every role, from Maid of Honor to Pet Attendant.
  • Each set has three pages: the ask, a thank-you note, and a “Ready to Give” guide to the role.
  • You add your names in Canva, then print at home or at a print shop.
  • $5 a card, or all 32 for $29.

What's in each card

Officiant card set laid flat: the Will you marry us card, the thank-you note, and the What being our Officiant really means guide

1

The ask

A warm question on the front: “Will you stand beside me?” or “Will you marry us?” with room for your names.

2

The thank-you

A short note on the back, written from the two of you, for saying yes.

3

Ready to Give

A separate insert that lays out the job before, on and after the day, with a real tip from me (or from my wife, Shannon) at the bottom.

It's an honor, and it's a job. These cards say both, so nobody is caught by surprise.

The roles nobody else makes cards for

You can find a bridesmaid card anywhere. But the people who make a wedding work are often the ones without a title: the aunt who's been there all your life, the friend who keeps the kids happy, the one who looks after the remembrance table. They deserve to be asked too.

Remembrance Table Keeper card: Will you help us remember?

Aunt of Honor card: You hold a special place

Grandparent of Honor card: It all started with you

Car Decorator card: Will you lend us your hands?

Flower Child card for parents: May your little one join us?

Wedding Baker card: Will you bake our cake?

The Flower Child and Ring Bearer cards are written to the parents, since they're the ones saying yes. And if you're keeping a table for loved ones who've passed, our page on honoring someone you've lost may help.

Titles are open to anyone. Your best man can be your sister, and your maid of honor can be your brother. More on that in choosing your wedding party.

Two soft styles

Two card styles side by side: pink blossoms on the Bridesmaid card and soft sage greenery on the Best Man card

The cards come in two light, airy looks: soft pink blossoms, and sage greenery. Both keep the flowers small and in the corners, so the words are what people notice.

I grew up in my parents' flower shop, where weddings were my mom's specialty. She'd have told you the flowers should frame the moment, not steal it.

How it works

  1. Buy the cards you need on Etsy. Your files download right away.
  2. Open your Canva link and type your names. Only the names change; the wording is written to sound like a couple talking to someone they love.
  3. Download your PDF from Canva and print at home on cardstock, or take it to a print shop. A one-page How to Print guide is included.
  4. Tuck the card and the Ready to Give insert into a standard A9 envelope (5.75 x 8.75 inches), sold at any office supply store.

Most couples need six to twelve roles. At $5 each, the $29 set of all 32 is the better buy once you need more than five.

Questions

Can I change the wording?

Only the names change. I wrote each card carefully, and keeping the wording set means the cards stay looking the way they were designed.

What size are the cards?

5.5 x 8.5 inches, half a letter-size sheet. They fit an A9 envelope.

What paper should I print on?

A smooth white or soft ivory cardstock looks best. The How to Print guide walks you through home and print-shop printing.

Is anything shipped to me?

No. These are digital downloads. You print as many copies as you need.

When should I give them?

As early as you can, ideally when you first ask. The Ready to Give guide is the part people thank you for later, because it tells them what to plan for.

Asking a friend to officiate? The Officiant's Toolkit gives them everything they need, from the license to the last words. See all our printables and planners.
